Taste of Art Deco

May 28 2014

Each person has their own perception of luxury and comfort based on their personal experience, culture and taste.

This interior project is a two-storied penthouse in the center of a big city which was created as a private area for people with deep understanding of beauty and style.

The project was based on the space shaped as an elliptical segment with columns placed in an orthogonal grid. The conflict of smooth lines and rigid geometry was resolved to determine the basic interior solutions, both in planning and style.

The art deco reminiscences softened by typical classical motifs can be found on both stories of the apartment. Only the children’s rooms, expressing the young ladies’ mood, differ from the general stylistic and colouristic line.

The interior is full of art subtly combined different surfaces and materials – walnut, maple, stone (onyx, marble), metal, mother-of-pearl, mirror-coated glass, mirror inlays which create a unique spirit of cozy art deco luxury full of air and light.

Home Victorian

Jun 23 2014

Home Victorian – this was the initial idea of this interior design project. It grew gathering American and Italian furniture, pieces carefully and lovingly collected by the owners and, with the designer’s creative ideas, evolved into a final solution which was quite different from the initial concept. Still, the designer paid respects to the style by adding ceramic tiles of the Victorian collection which combined all main interior zones and created a special warm atmosphere of the entire space with the emphasis on the Victorian pattern. Wooden panels, stained glass, exquisite furniture and decorations make the residents feel cozy and comfortable.

And, by all means, the fresh and romantic rooms for young ladies deserve special attention. They are designed in soft pastels combined with pure, strong colours of stained glass.

As the result, in the Home Victorian the balance considerably shifted towards HOME, becoming a unique interior portraying the wonderful people whose visions took shape in their HOME.

Wood outside-wood inside

May 28 2014

This project was quite a challenge, as we had to turn a 600 square meter public building into a residence with an air of warmth, comfort and home.

It is no secret that the heart of any traditional home is its hearth. So, we ‘broke’ the 24-meter glass facade with a fireplace on the inside and a stove on the outside. The main image idea of this project was its interior to exterior relation.

The pine forest surrounding the house is literally reflected in the glass facade. Shadows of the trees are forever imprinted in the glass units creating an illusion of the forest outside blending with the forest inside. Bright daylight flooding the sitting-room makes us feel as if we are relaxing outdoors among tall red pines with soft light filtering through their needles. Twilight brings an opposite effect – the ‘interior’ forest bursts the darkness with a bright ray of the ‘day memory’.

Bird’s eye view

May 28 2014

It’s a warm summer night, but today is Monday, and the next weekend is almost a week away. Tonight you and your family are not in your country house overlooking a quiet lake. You are relaxing on your open penthouse terrace styled as an Italian patio.
Warm-toned travertine and the classic decorations combine with olive wood of the roof. Bright hand-made ceramics, stone of different textures, vivid colour highlights in the natural stone and wood, copper pillars topped with Fine Art exterior classic lights join to create a unique atmosphere of a luxurious relaxation place. And, of course, the focal point of this project is the breathtaking panoramic bird’s eye view on the city living its life and changing from day to night. You become a spectator in a luxurious theatre box watching a magnificent show of the sunset first painting the city ‘stage’ scarlet and then gradually plunging it into the deep mysterious blue. At that point the ‘spotlights of your terrace turn the audience into the stage.
This project is a modern interpretation of Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, but here the sky is nor a static overhead fresco, but a vivid image of nature.

Warm contemporary or dress-interior

Apr 26 2014

A modern home for young pragmatists. What should it be like?

When you come to a tailor for a unique outfit, naturally, you want it not only to ‘fit’, but also to leave you some space ‘to grow into’. This does not mean that you are planning to put on some weight, but that the outfit should remain up-to-date for several seasons.

This order was a dress-interior to remain in trend for at least 10 years. We’ll think of a new one afterwards. However, time goes by, but we are still in love with this one and are never bored. The trick is simple – correct spacing, warm colours, natural wood, original art, ageless bestsellers by Ligne Roset. It’s modern and it’s timeless. You can replace the upholstery, clean the carpet or take the drapes to the dry-cleaner’s. But you would not want to change anything else. Whatever growing ambitions the customers have, they implement them in their new projects carefully protecting their ‘first-born’.

Magic of Wood

Apr 26 2014

Pine forest, a sandy shore, vast surface of the lake… and the magic of wood which became the key of the entire interior.

A 500-square meter log cabin planned in a deliberately simple terraced manner naturally blended in the scenic landscape spreading along the edge of the woods.

The exterior of the house closely ties it to the scenery surrounding it. Nature easily flows to the very heart of this house through the huge living-room picture window facing the forest. The centre of the living-room is occupied by a two-way fireplace, the heart of the entire house. The open to below main area is full of air and seems even larger with the open beams and rafters of the wooden roof structure.

Unfortunately, even the most professional photography is unable to recreate the warmth and cosiness of the house appearance, the scent and breath of wood and the unique feel of all the natural and handmade in the house. We extremely enjoyed working on this project and finding unusual designs for it. The log structure itself suggested the themes of paintings and stained glass panels, furniture shapes and original decorations.

The people living in this house maintain harmony with their surroundings and treasure the warmth of their home, their family traditions and eternal values.

Italian Court

Apr 26 2014

The main motif of this penthouse is Italian Court. Not only it is the soul and image of this apartment, but also its composition centre, the crosspoint  joining and combining different functional zones.

The elegant forged ironworks support printed glass to form the living floor balcony balustrade creating exterior space sensation. This sensation is further enhanced by plenty of light flooding the space through the ‘arcade’ of clerestory windows. Here the Renaissance motif is carried also in the walls covered with wallpaper custom-printed with the pattern imitating quadra masonry of Italian palazzi. Lots of natural stone and warm ambient colours dominating this interior create the atmosphere of home and luxury, stability and comfort, obviously valued by the people living in this house.
